From Simpsons Channel:
When Grampa escapes from his retirement home, Homer and Marge frantically try to track him down by following clues that reveal secrets in Grampa’s past, including that he worked at a local restaurant with composer Marvin Hamlisch (guest-voicing as himself)
There’s more, but I think we’ve all got the gist. (Sorry for the late post, the effort necessary to care about Zombie Simpsons sometimes takes a while to summon.)

Grandpa has a new Girlfriend now.
Bah, just another typical Z-stuff. Grandpa gets lost, then suddenly Homer and Marge know how to find clues to him, then Homer remembers something he already kinda knew (not to mention that they once again contradict any single-digit season episode about his childhood), and finally pop goes the Grandpa. Fuck of mediocrity at its finest…
That one could however be a good example of compare & contrast theme, I’d say about how mid-age Abe was portrayed in the original seasons, and how he is in here. Dunno if you simply stopped doing those or not.
If those two are still married…then she is Homer’s (first) stepmom.
I hate how they changed Abe’s backstory yet AGAIN! He never divorced Mona after she left him so he is a polygamist.
I can understand your points, but I just don’t give a f*** about these episodes and what they do to the characters. The show died after Season 10.
AND another thing…how come Rita never tried finding Abe–HER HUSBAND!– after she came back from Europe?
No, Mona left when Homer was 10, and those were the late 60s. He we see something like the early 60s, Abe’s kinda 30, acts like a sissy/caring father (even though there was that beer joke), and Homer looks like he’s 5 or 6, though he might be 10 and just stupid for that age.
On a side note, I’m actually amazed at how little comments last night’s episode has gotten, compared to the usual tween-ish bunch of agreeing/arguing. The ratings must’ve hit below 4 million now, huh?
It’s a pretty bad sign when dead homer society COMMENTORS even give up.
Somehow the show manages to get worse each week.
Inflammable means flammable? What a country!
