Another great example of how classic era jokes are multi-layered. It’s not enough the police in Shelbyville are so antagonistic to their neighboring city that they tell them that they’ll regularly check the morgue for their missing children, but if they do find them, they won’t even call, they’ll just send a fax.
And Flanders took that as an acceptable answer, which is exactly what he’d do.
