Not feeling unique, Lisa signs up for the Mars One Space Colony – to Marge’s dismay. Then, Marge hires Bart to go through the tryout process with Lisa to make her want to quit.

Lisa doesn’t feel unique so she goes on a suicide mission. It’s a story as old as time. Marge doesn’t want her to go so she ‘hires’ a family member to stop it. Another age-old tale.

That’s it, I cannot work under these conditions. If anyone wants me I will be downstairs at McDougal’s.  …Call the weekend guy, I don’t care.

Another incredibly contrived, unreasonable plot for you! And we are only in the middle of the season production.
On the other hand, by contract they have to produce exactly 22 episodes in the given amount of time, no matter what. This is Al Jean’s job: produce the requested number of episodes on time and on budget, no matter the quality!
In case FOX decides to go through season 30 I don’t even dare to imagine what kind of plots we are gonna get.

That was covered here about 4 years ago. Word from the veteran.

Well, they can just leech off what “South Park”, “Family Guy”, “Bob’s Burgers”, “American Dad”, and the good past episodes of “The Simpsons”, just like they’ve been doing every episode since season 13…or they can tap into the crazy plots they listed at the end of “The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase” and “Gump Roast”.

Marge and Lisa go to Mars.

It sounds like the title of a cheap direct-to-DVD- animated movie or a terrible kid’s book.

It was a good episode for today’s standards. Too bad I’m in the cynical part of the Internet here. Still love the daily classic Simpsons quotes, though.

They did try to tell a story that had something behind it. Of course they started it a bit late by having the egg stealing bit take up all the beginning of the show and being what set things in motion instead of just using it as a B-plot.

Hi, “Deep Space Homer”. Uh, don’t mind me. I’m just going to shit on your face and pee in your mouth, like so. Because it’s 2016, you’re too old, I don’t give two fucks and my writers need their paychecks.

Spoiler: The episode wasn’t good and relied too much on celebrity hamming.

At least the yearly build up towards next episode should be worth it.
