I really like this episode, but the ending just feels like the kind of lazy dreck that Zombie Simpsons would come up with. Am I the only one?
Even the laziest of Simpsons writing is better than anything the ZS writers could dream of coming up with.
But it’s better written than any Zombie Simpsons episode
I know that, but we have higher standards for the classic seasons, don’t we? Obviously ZS is crap and could never do half as good, but most of the “Homer and Marge get into a serious fight” episodes ended better than this. Even Homer tossing back General Sherman (which I always felt he did more to prove her wrong than agreeing with her) was a better reconciliation than this, and he did something even worse to lose her trust here.
Yes, even as a kid I noticed how it was lazy. It’s like it was missing something, but I’m not sure what.
Not sure how Marge was planning to live there having thrown out the breadwinner. Could have led to an interesting “Marge gets a permannent job” episode!
