This rather goofy image of many Troy McClure titles has been making the rounds the last couple of days.  It’s on Reddit, Huffington Post, College Humor, and I’ve seen others link to it as well:

Troy McClure Titles (and then some)

I know it’s a little small (click to embiggen), but you’ll notice right away that there are a lot of unfamiliar titles.  SNPP tells me that at least some of them are from Simpsons comics (with which I am unfamiliar), but others seem to have been pulled out of thin air.  “Saturnforce000” and “Pinch Me, I’m in Boise” don’t ring a bell, and didn’t produce squat on Google.  Also, “The Simpsons 38th Episode Spectacular” is just a wee bit off.  So, yeah, this is cute, just not quite what it advertises itself to be.

Though we did get this on a comment at the Reddit page:

People still watch the Simpsons?

I find it odd that whoever made this left off some of Troy’s better known works (that came directly from the TV show) in favor of really obscure ones gleaned from the comics or other outside sources.

I’m 99% sure “Pinch Me, I’m From Boise” is from the 1997 CD-ROM game “Virtual Springfield,” which opens with a great little introduction from Troy, which for some bizarre reason nobody has uploaded to YouTube. He says “You might remember me from such computer travel guides as..” and then lists two randomized titles. “Duluth, It’ll Grow On Ya” and “Eeny-Meeny-Miney Murfreesboro” were two other ones.

There are quite a few Virtual Springfield videos on YouTube, but I didn’t see anything with McClure. Pity.

I was disappointed not to see “Man Versus Nature: The Road to Victory”. Others I can think of just off the top of my head:

    “Smoke Yourself Thin!”
“Two Minus Three Equals Negative Fun!”
    “Firecrackers: The Silent Killer”

I think the “Saturnforce” one was also from a comic, and it was actually a pretty funny gag; McClure stars in a hard sci-fi film, and it flops (the actual depiction is funnier than my description).
