The days when The Simpsons were daring and took risks to bypass the censors
Call me dumb but I don’t get what is there to censor so much. Is this because “Atomic Pile” is some penis reference or what?
She’s holding the rod suggestively. Rod = penis
lol sounds too 34’d to me. On the same scale, Marge’s hair can also be suggestive.
Not even remotely. That calendar picture is a very direct (and obvious) joke.
This wasn’t really anything risque for 1991.
I think women and seamen don’t mix.
Then of course there was this gem:

I have always noticed this joke and I’ve never seen any reference to it in any review of the episode I’ve read. Ah, the days when The SImpsons didn’t care about the censors and were funny about it. Nowadays they don’t care but every joke such as those are tasteless.
