Family Food

“You’re letting me go?” – Kirk van Houten
“Kirk, crackers are a family food.  Happy families.  Maybe single people eat crackers, we don’t know.  Frankly, we don’t want to know.  It’s a market we can do without.” – Southern Cracker Executive

  1. The way they nailed Milhouse’s dad was just perfect: a lousy father, but not because he’s a lazyass or a jerk like Homer. Simply because he’s such a loser he can even lose his job out of nothing. And the funny part is, Milhouse still things of Kirk ok on multiple occasions (whereas Bart always banters Homer for doing something stupid).

      1. It’s great the way they fleshed in the character while still keeping him recognizable. Kirk was always kind of a loser, now we get to see what a gargantuan loser he really is. And Chris is right, the ending here is just fantastic.

  2. One of the most underrated episodes in the show’s history. Great humor, great story, beats TV cliches into the ground by not having Luanne and Kirk get back together in the end. I’ll be back, pro..probably.

    1. Oh yes but it’s a shame ZS called back this episode with a pointless and lazy saw “parody”.

  3. Could someone explain to me the “dryyyyyy” cracker part? I never really understood that.
