I just watched the “classic” episode Bart the Murderer: Was that season 5 or 15?

It had several inconsistencies, so the creators must have been very lazy. What was the point of that overlong dream sequence? There were so many pointless, time-willing sequences, like the gangsters pointing guns at Bart and the drink recipes being covered in dust, the police searching the house and the dream. I fail to see the joke there, and making it all black and white was such an easy way to avoid coloring. Seeing Skinner dead again and again was cruel and symbolic of this show’s inability to make me laugh without hurting someone. Homer was such a jerkass, trying to make Bart smoke all those cigarettes and threatening him while Bart was in jail. Listen to all that ominous music, as if anyone believed the show would kill off two of its main characters. Skinner’s escape was just stupid: How did he clutch the vacuum with both hands if one hand was trapped? How convenient that he came in the nick of time, because we were so scared that he and Bart would be eliminated. Like that would matter anyway, since everything always gets restarted.

A Monty Python fan focuses on what he perceives as inconsistencies above humor.

Not liking “Bart the Murderer”, that’s a paddlin’.

Um… what? Did you honestly take those things seriously? It’s not the first time characters have been placed in mock-mortal peril during the classic seasons, and outside Halloween episodes. I think you’re a little confused about what’s going on here.

Missing the joke: That’s a paddling.
Failing to notice how I complimented the episode in the last article’s comments: That’s a paddling.

          I mean the November 18 article’s comments.

Ohh, I get it! I get jokes. *laughs*

Irregardless, I will now hang my head in shame. Better?

“Was that season 5 or 15?”

Neither, it was Season 3. That’s pretty easy info to look up.

Not sure which I like better, the entire quote itself, or that they chose to make the whisper intelligible instead of the usual garbled “psshwshshsshtwsshhhh” kind that you usually get in cartoons. I can think of a few other times when they’ve done both, just not off the top of my head.
