While this episode contained whiffs of zombification, at least the writers of this still got it that Mr. Burns is the sort that prefers keeps himself separate from others–and not just in terms of social class, but mentally and through physical and spatial means just as well. That stupid yearning for others to genuinely like him (and not simply for the the sake of manipulating others) really fucked over Burns’ character.
