It’s a Moe Moe Moe Moe Moe Week, it looks like!
Today is this episode’s 25th anniversary – it premiered January 28, 1990, the same day that Super Bowl XXIV was played. And I think it’s really a testament to what a huge hit The Simpsons was right out of the gate, that FOX had so much faith in it, they debuted a new episode against the Super Bowl.
So now we’re celebrating 25 years too?
I will complain about everything.
You can’t complain. You’re only bitching using another individual’s name. And I pity you.
Lou is white, Moe’s coloring his hair, and Wiggum isn’t following his subordinates around for no reason. This takes me back.
Lou being white (or “yellow” in this show’s world) was an animation error (similar to Barney’s hair being the same color as his skin or Hans Moleman going from brown to yellow), as well as Moe having black hair instead of gray (and wearing pink instead of blue and grayish blue).
And you forgot to mention that Wiggum was semi-competent in the earlier episodes and he and Chief Quimby hated each other. Why did they ever get rid of that? Oh, right. It’s part of the show’s Simpson Gene-esque slide into mediocrity.
