Oh yesss, feels so good after all these Earth Day neoliberal posts…
See, Homer CAN make an angel. That episode from season 12 (the one where the kids are snowed in the school) where Homer makes a snow angel, but it turns into a devil was a lie!
Maybe the medium plays a part? Snow is “virginal” and untouched, therefore the depiction must carry the meaning. Here he creates an angel, but the medium itself is putrid filth, thereby conveying the meaning that he is very un-angelic. Or maybe we shouldn’t think about it that deeply? Maybe not making an angel was a bad joke? Who knows!
If there’s a TV show it’s okay to think deeply about, it’s definitely The Simpsons.
