You just had to throw that “I guess” in there, didn’t you?
Yeah. He doesn’t care much for the episode because of how emotionally pornographic he thinks it is. I’ll admit, I hated the episode at first, but that’s because I was around 12, 13 and one of my biggest fears at the time was that my mom would just one day stopped loving me. Then I got over it and laughed at the jokes this episode had, like “Buy me Bonestorm or go to Hell,” Thrillhouse/Thrillho, Milhouse getting Bart kicked out the house twice, Homer’s burn against the Police Academy movies, this part that was cut in syndication where Homer buys nothing but eggnog and thinks the government takes it away after 30 days, and Homer thinking Lisa went to Camp Granada because of that Allan Sherman tape in the answering machine.
I would also like to add Bart not understanding the word capisce and later hearing it as “catfish” when he plays the scene back in his head.
