Indeed. That’s one of the many problems with Jerkass Homer, he’s an outrageous idiot all the time instead of a somewhat normal guy who just happens to be profoundly and hopelessly dumb.
“Flaming Moe’s”‘s Homer is the quintaessential Homer. He doesn’t wreak havok in Moe’s tavern or he starts his own bar, he is just depressed for 2/3 of the episode. His actions are much more realistic than anything S10+ Homer does.
