Yellow-bellied means scared in our world, and the joke in applying it to the Simpsons world is that nearly everybody has a literal yellow belly. Pretty simple stuff, woulda taken maybe ten seconds to Google if you weren’t familiar with the expression

But that’s a justification you invented. Your sense of morality has decided that because I behave a certain way, I can be treated a certain way. Therefore, my own justifications for being rude to others should be acceptable as well.
