Oh, I’ve heard how Stockholm Affair ends, it turns out the secret code was the same nursery rhyme he told his daughter!
What? It’s pretty obvious if you think about it.
Oh thank you, Mr. Blow The Picture For Me
Ah, this movie’s too complicated…hey, the floor’s sticky!
I think that guy’s a spy!
Best Episode in the series!
Best. Episode. Ever.
Holy crap, another person who thinks this is the best episode. I thought I would never meet another…
Who’s that guy? What’d that guy say when I said “Who’s that guy?”
Ahh, for the days when they didn’t hover on sign gags for 10 seconds, and when they could show signs without saying every part out loud…
Lot of “best episode” comments. Interesting that this is the only one in the entire series where Matt Groening has the sole writing credit.
Sigh…. I wonder why Matt Groening never got to write more episodes, it just boggles my mind…
According to John Ortved’s book, Groening had an episode he was supposedly writing that became a running gag for years with the other writers, as to whether or not he’d ever actually finish it (I’m guessing he didn’t).
Thanks for the info D.N.! Idk that, very interesting info about MG and he proabably did not finish it yet (maybe it’s supposed to be something special like his idea for the last episode of The Simpsons and is still a work in progress)
:)
ERNEST NEEDS A KIDNEY. ERNEST CUTS THE CHEESE. ERNEST GOES SOMEWHERE CHEAP.
In the Beavis and Butthead episode “At the Movies,” the boys are watching Ernest at the drive-in. Ernest is inside the Statue of Liberty and comes across a door with a sign that reads “DO NOT ENTER.” However, Ernest misreads it as “donut entry” and opens the door, falling through the statue’s nose.
In an episode of Family Guy, Peter Griffin can’t decide which (fake) Ernest movie to rent: Ernest Goes to the Beach or Ernest Doesn’t Go to the Beach.
I’ve only ever seen “Ernest Goes to Camp” (which I enjoyed at the time) and “Ernest Saves Christmas” (which, at the tender age of 8, I recognised as a piece of crap). I suspect that the funniest joke of the entire series was the sheer number of instalments made (something that The Simpsons and others poked fun at).
I also imagine that “Ernest” is one of the few film franchises that will never be “rebooted.”
Actually, Ernest Goes to Jail is a legitimately great film. No kidding
Lol :)
It’s being rebooted. Son of Ernest was just announced.
Oh my god, you’re right. SON OF ERNEST.
How about fake-Ernest?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIM5DB0Nvgc
The guy who did Big Daddy’s voice in “Chief Wiggum, P.I.” was in some of the earier Ernest films.
Someone with time on their hands could probably make Ernest Vs The Pope.
