In the episode, Bart is falsely accused of pulling an Easter prank involving the school marching band and stuffing rotten eggs in the brass section’s horns, and Lisa must step in as his attorney to defend her brother. Meanwhile, Mr. Burns attempts to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a superhero, Fruit Bat Man.
Ok, I would be fine with the prank, and I can look the other way that Bart isn’t actually the culprit and is still being blamed, although I imagine it will be a scene filled with sympathy horns. I could even pretend to stomach the inevitable court room scene (which must be where they’re sticking guest star Janet Reno). But Mr. Burns as a superhero? A superhero named Fruit Bat Man?? That dog won’t hunt, Monsignor.

What, you don’t think this promo looks promising? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0wdrfqM-GY
Ok that was horrible…Family guy-like horrible….
damn.
It looks like they are going to “parody” The Avengers and The Expendables. Oh how funny and clever….NOT!
It looks like Dead Homer Society has its work cut out for it. Just for fun, I looked up the upcoming episodes for this season on WikiSimpsons. We’re due for episodes revolving around Bleeding Gums Murphy, Roger Meyers and Itchy & Scratchy Land, and Kang and Kodos. I can’t wait to see what adventures Zombie Simpsons have in store for these beloved characters!
Also, Rev. Lovejoy is replaced by a younger, more popular minister; and Justin Bieber appears in a talent show with piano-playing Bart.
The Roger Meyers plot has been cut months ago, so that’s one less character you have to worry about
It doesn’t say that nowhere.
Also, I’m gonna enjoy watching another episode of senseless parodies to the movies I’ve never seen.
This is how these movies will be reminded of in my head thereafter.
Mike Price, who wrote the episode, said last year that the Roger Meyers plot has been cut. I guess there wasn’t enough room next to the exciting small train plot.
I read it on Wikipedia last week and it was still among the upcoming eps of the season. The thing is, this sounds like a b-plot, so there must’ve been no a-plot to come with (although with today’s writing, I’m surprised they couldn’t have fit that anywhere else).
And honestly, I’d have really preferred watching this for an episode, to the one the’re planning with Bieber probably shamelessly self-promoting instead of being punched in the face.
A non-thoh episode with Kang and Kodos? It doesn’t even look non-canon.
But how? why? I can’t begin to wrap my head around this.
Ow that hurts, why are you doing this to me, please let me die.
So a few weeks ago we learned Grandpa was a wrestler in the 50’s, yet in this weeks flashback to 1998 he looks younger than he did as a wrestler in the 50’s. Jasper’s beard was brown for god sake. Somehow I don’t remember that in the 90’s
It’s as if there’s two versions of every charcter now. One where they stick to the original character’s bio, and one one from a parallel universe where Grandpa and Jasper were middle aged in the 90’s while Homer was a twenty something in a grunge band.
The revisionist history is Zombie Simpssons greatest offence.
Krusty: “Now that’s what I call legal briefs!”
Lisa: “Why are you here?”
Krusty: “I thought of the joke and rushed over.”
Zombie Simpsons is now lampshading its own tendency to have characters appear out of nothing when it’s convenient.
You know, I hate ZS as much as the next guy, but given the right context, that joke would be pretty funny
So the geriatric who is so weak he topples over when the toothpaste is applied to his brush is a superhero now? Wouldn’t he be the villain, if anything?
I googled “burns villain” and got pictures of him looking like Dracula. It’s also very bad quality, as if they’d hand drawn it… Really wonder where did THAT come from…
He was a vampire with a queer-looking haircut but that was a halloween episode, which all ZS episodes are now.
Of course, and btw I was being sarcastic. I.e. what the average audience response to it would be.
And they’re not like Halloween, it’s worse than that now. They’re actually more like Homer’s insane guatemala chili trip except that it never ends.
Just my comment. Ignore it.
I know, I was just being sarcastic. And it looks like they’re beyond their Halloween logic now as many storylines just seem like Homer’s insane guatemala chili trip, except that it never ends.
Yes the REAL Mr, Burns would have wanted to be like The Joker instead of Batman.
The REAL Burns was fucking Dracula 20 years ago, and even when dying he still managed to fire Homer. This is a senile billionaire going on senseless money-wasting sprees after the writers made him do so.
Worst part: he doesn’t even TWITCH when Smithers tells him he has been bribing everyone to act up to him. It’s like “oookay, we’re done with this step” The only conclusion Zombie Burns makes thereafter, instead of raging and shouting, is “well in that case, I’ve gotta do a good deed”. There is NOWHERE where that would EVER stick to the Burns I knew!
And to top everything up, he goes nasty on Lisa at the end. Like, suddenly, bam! and he’s a douchebag again. Was that worth his halfway homosexual fight with Willie? Did he do it out of low self-esteem for always being aided by Smithers? Will he ever return to himself again? We don’t know, because… Well, Moe.
Once again, Sappy Chump Moe, or whatever the nickname is, showed up, worse than ever before.
Okay, from whatever I just saw the only decent plot story they could’ve made was Moe finally cracking up to Bart’s prank calls. Since they already made a whole episode of him going gay, why not this? I mean, how would that make lesser sense than Willie framing Bart for no apparent reason (at least the last time it happened, Bart destroyed his shack), or than Burns becoming a superhero (something which he was booed for the last time he tried, and even that time it was purely for self-attention)? Anyway…
P.S. Jasper’s beard WAS brown, although not that less ago. Also, they strangely seem to copy Abe’s appearance from Season 5 to later when he looked kinda as sassy as Homer (although the first of Abe’s flashbacks features a much more manly version of him than this one).
It’s nice how rather than coming up with a new thing for Bart to prank call to Moe, they just reused one they had used over 20 years earlier. Who says this show is out of ideas?
Just seen it. Not horrible. Just boring and mediocre. They could have made a much better episode with the sole focus being Bart’s court but the lazy writting and the shoved in Batman…..parody? just made it a drag to watch. I only laughed at the helicopter crashing. ….and that’s so sad
They scrapped the Itchy & Scratchy Land train episode for not having enough plot filler, what d’ya think they would’ve done with just the Bart part?
*sighs* good point :/
And it’s been years now that they play rock-paper-scissors with their plots.
I know, it’s so damn annoying and it’s the kind of stuff one expects from Family Guy, not Simpsons.
A little something to brighten everyone’s day:

BTW, I haven’t found a plot summery to read yet.
You know, a Janet Reno cameo would’ve made more sense in 2001-2004 (back when she wasn’t tottaly obscure) and who chose the name Fruit Batman? Zombie Smithers?
No, it was just a leftover from his “Chuckie, Stalin, Megatron” line.
I have not yet watched the ep (and have no urge to)
Cmon, dont be a puss and watch it
