This is usually a good parody website, but this particular article, a summary of the Shining was pretty terrible. Look in the comments, and you will see that someone used quotes and ideas from the Treehouse of Horror 5 version of the movie to demonstrate satire. I think the quotes are accurate, but I do not have your encyclopedic knowledge of this show.
