A great example of a how to do a crossover. It was still a Simpsons episode and it never felt like they were shoving another Fox show down our throats. This episode is a fan favorite and still funny all these years later.

I never noticed how much detail was put into this explosion. Impressive animation and drawing.
I remember this episode and the one with the Space Coyote were the ones that showed my acquaintances and I that the show was entering the zombie period. They had a lot of great lines, but were too slow, inconsistent, and we definitely had mixed feelings–well, I was mostly positive about this episode, but they were dubious. I still denied that the show was going to hell, though–until the worst episode ever, and that is not a reference to Comic Book Guy: Saddlesore Galactica, where the show hit bottom and all doubt was erased.
