It looks like Homer won’t be home for Christmas after he stays too long at Moe’s Tavern on Christmas Eve and an irate Marge tells him not to return to their house, so he’s left to wander alone around Springfield and lament the effects of Christmas spirits.
Marge gets mad because Homer is drinking, Homer feels bad, Homer finds some way to convince Marge to again blind herself to his functional alcoholism. One could make a substantial list of episodes that follow this plot structure. However one could also spend the rest of his Sunday playing video games instead, and just be sated with the fact that they probably haven’t done it with a Christmas episode yet.

Marge gets mad at homer AGAIN?! Really?!
I think that these episodes are written by an algoritm which keeps making the same plots over and over again.
It’s not okay with you?
Well, some of the writers/producers of The Simpsons majored in math at Ivy League schools (mostly Harvard and Yale), so that’s probably what they’re using their math skills for instead of something useful, like solving most of the world’s problems. Their parents (God rest their souls) must be so proud.

Well, I taped “Sit Down, Shut Up” (that short-lived cartoon about teachers that came on in 2009) and “King of the Hill” (the episode where Hank and Dale panic over Y2K) on Adult Swim, then caught up on the sleep lost from working an early morning shift with UPS. Is that any better?
NOT another marriage crisis!
Last year’s Christmas episode had a video game snowman throwing movies at the screen for an endless 30 seconds….but at least it was not a marriage crisis plot!
I’m surprised they didn’t call the episode “I Won’t Be Homer for Christmas.”
Another idea for a Simpsons board game I.e. Multiple marriage crises between Homer and Marge and yes I will be playing video games hopefully instead of watching this rubbish.
Homer forgets his wallet at Moe’s, but never notices, and is shown purchasing things with cash several times afterwards. Huh? Are we to believe he keeps his cash and his wallet in different pockets?
Some people do that so that way if they lose their wallet, at least they’ll have money. It also works if you’re being mugged, but I’d recommend keeping the money in a shoe because the mugger will always demand you empty everything from both pockets.
Ok, that’s possible. But I still think it’s more likely that the writers just weren’t paying attention.
Yeah. What was I thinking? Smart “Simpsons” writers.

Call me crazy but did the time on the show go from after midnight to before midnight?
It did seem that way when I watched it. We see it’s after midnight on Bart’s alarm clock when he’s unable to sleep, and then when Moe comes down the chimney he says it’s one minute to Christmas or something.
Great episode, you guys! Totally liked it! The show rocks!
Just wondering, if you hate the new episodes so much, why do you all keep watching them?
