Did Homer actually make Nuts and Gum or is that the end result of the fact that, as a white male aged 18-49, stupid ideas like that can be made and marketed to him? Because snpp.com (now Simpsons Archives) stupidly said that Homer created Nuts and Gum himself, but I think it’s what he said about how people listen to white males aged 18-49 (which, by the way, is a large section of viewership in the Neilsen ratings), no matter how dumb their ideas are.
I can confidently assume it’s the end result of the fact. It would be funnier that way since what he says falls within the context, and so it all comes together.

Side-bar: I’ve always loved those “little kid” drawings, purportedly made by Bart and/or Lisa, shown in the background in the kitchen scenes…..like the red chicken (or rooster) obviously drawn by outlining a hand; and the dinosaur too.
