Just rewatched this. The Omnitouch lady (and the repo guys) are pretty much the only decent parts of this episode, though I will express a certain… preference for the long Homer-in-the-coffin journey scene (as I liked it when I was a kid). This is actually the only time I don’t mind the “characters appearing out of nowhere” problem of S10+, since it’s supposed to be part of her character here, and I do get a few chuckles out of it.
The Bill of Rights scene, though, is just terrible, and it’s really just an inferior repeat of Homer ruining the Stonecutters’ parchment in “Homer the Great”, with Homer really acting Invincible Jerkass here instead of clumsily ignorant like he did there.
They never really did resolve the antenna addition, though, but IMO the B-plot could’ve worked without it for sure and still be fine. (Marge smashing Milhouse on the head is pretty funny.) Fuck me, though, it’s no wonder all I remember from this episode was the deprivation-chamber stuff and Homer’s wild-ride odyssey before I rewatched it. It’s also really annoying how this episode tries to pin the blame on Lisa in the end, even though she didn’t really do anything wrong and it’s Jerkass Homer’s behavior that’s really in the wrong here. I’m just rambling about this episode now, but man.
