Overall, blacksploitation’s been nothing but a positive influence on society.
I don’t actually know that at all, but assuming so makes it a hell of a lot easier to listen to the soundtracks.
Well, it sure helps that quite a bit of these films were actually made by black people and filmed by black directors! Hell, right off the bat you’ve got Shaft (granddaddy of them all), Superfly, Trouble Man… and I’m just listing the most memorable soundtracks.
Of course, I don’t give a shit about the “influence” on society angle, I appreciate it for what they are and watch it for that intrinsically.
