I was just reading Me Blog Write Good. I don’t know if he ever commented here, but ABRACADAVER’s username always linked to the website of an independent film maker named Adam Cooley. Upon Google searching that name, it appears he died last year. :(
I knew someone had died in there somewhere sometime ago. I just knew it.

I just checked the website/imdb page, too, but I could’ve sworn I saw that guy commenting here recently. Maybe it was a ghost.

Would like to know what Mike Amato’s working on and if he’ll blog again, he’s both a talented writer and, since binge-watching 450+ Simpsons episode, also a single-mindedly obsessive crank. Now that’s good readin’!
Yeah, there definitely were lowercase and uppercase versions of the name that were posted by different people.
And I hope to hear more from Mike in the future, too. I like how observant and conscientious he is, too.
Could’ve sworn they were the same person, just different personas for different times (and moods). Huh.
I wish Mike Amato would come back to finish off his Animation Alley ToH series with ToHVII. Doesn’t feel fair to just end on VI without continuing onto the last uniformly great ToH episode (going by the lack of Crazy Noises for it on this site).
About the quote: wow, that’s some poorly constructed dialogue! When I first watched this ep, I didn’t see it, but now, with what they’re saying written right in front of me, it really seems weird. Burns asks Lisa about money and then he himself continues to kinda answer his own question… wtf?! Lisa should’ve been the one saying something about the environment instead. I know that, if I remember correctly, later on they reuse the same joke with her saying it, but that one should’ve been used the first time instead.
It’s not “answering his own question” really. It’s more just a tangent.
Well, maybe it’s just me, but this ‘nickel’ old guy talk seems out of place. Of course, compared to most ZS dialogues they throw in today it’s pure gold, but still.
If it’s any consolidation, it shows how out of touch Mr. Burns is with the modern world, though his ordering the zit-faced mail clerk to send his letter via airtight to the King of Siam on the episode where Homer ‘s mom reunites with him did it better. Or at the very least, didn’t make it cliched.

Isn’t this a callback to a previous joke in the episode – or do I have the order mixed up:
Mr. Burns: Well, Lisa, as my adviser, you’re entitled to ten percent.
Lisa: Oh, I’m not doing this for the money. I’m just happy knowing that future generations will enjoy unspoiled median strips and pristine highway embankments.
Mr. Burns: (unimpressed) There’s a can
