I have a huge soft spot for this and many other Season 7 and 8 episodes because of the fond memories I have of watching them for the first time. Getting my hands on The Simpsons: A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family in high school, in my early days of being a die-hard Simpsons fan, put me on a mad quest to see every episode in the book, no matter how I had to do it. My local FOX affiliate showed syndicated Simpsons reruns twice daily, at 7:00 and 11:30, and episodes from this era were in heavy rotation. I remember sitting up in bed, staying up til midnight, watching episodes like The Curse of the Flying Hellfish and The Springfield Files on my dad’s rinky-dink black and white portable TV, with the antenna I had to turn just right to get the signal in clearly all the way from Boston. Good times.
Churly, there better be a new ZS episode today because it’s been a long time you’ve skipped on them BUF reviews and how much the ratings plummeted again yada-yada. I’m not even talking about C&Cs but fuck it, someone must keep believing that they would stop one day. If someone has to die for this – ya tell me, aight? *wink-wink*

If Charlie Sweatpants (or whoever runs the blog) doesn’t want to do the Behind Us Forever or Compare and Contrasts, then he should just revamp this blog as a Simpsons Quote paradise. Or Simpsons quotes and mini-essays on what exactly made the older Simpsons episodes funnier than the current ones (unless that “book” *Zombie Simpsons: How The Best Show Ever Became The Broadcasting Undead* counts, in which case, I think it should be published, since there is a market for TV history books, especially ones about The Simpsons), since those do teach you how to do comedy writing and give you insight on Simpsons jokes that may be over some people’s heads.
