I’m not sure if Ned is either trying to explain Todd about unemployment in a very edulcorated way, trying to be nice towards unemployed people in a very Flanders way, or being a little passive agressive to them.
This is coming from the same man who paid an exhausted, sleep-deprived Homer up to the last penny instead of just stealing the products, so, I assume the first or second explanations, because the last one feels a little more like something coming from “Lisa the Skeptic”‘s Ned Flanders or “HOMR”‘s Ned Flanders rather than classic Ned Flanders.
…….Uh… yeah, it’s the first two.
agreed, it is probably the first two. this is the Ned who just loves everyone and has nothing bad to say about anyone. this is the Ned that in the same episode, didn’t want to claim his business expenses as business expenses because they gave him so much personal pleasure (possibly a joke that only people who do their own taxes like a sucker, like me, can appreciate).
this is the Ned I love and miss!
