You can see the devolution of the show on this segment. They basically repeat the same idea from the last segment of ToH III but this time it’s a Homer-only story until the end and it involves a long, kinda boring chase and Homer punching skulls. There are still good jokes though (Homer missing his family, “Intel Inside”, CBG’s rant against Aquaman).
You are right, but take for example the “Homer missing his family” segment: I counted 5 great jokes in less than 20 seconds, or one hit every 4 seconds. They could still be amazing back then. That is, 20 years ago…
