An ongoing ramble by Charlie Sweatpants . .
According to the DVD commentary, they cut a gag from this bit where Krusty paid his dad $10,000 not to bother him anymore. Wisely cut, in my opinion – modern Simpsons makes a habit of undercutting the emotional impact of classic episodes with quick cynical one-off jokes that trash the whole thing, but back then, they knew better than to go that far.
Yeah, that would’ve been terrible after all that effort he went to so he could get back in touch with his dad.
