Wow didn’t realise that episode was 20 years old! The song about bagging a Homer is very catchy and I still sing it every now and again
what really made the ep was the Ya-Hoo cast of characters from such as:
Big Shirtless Ron, Butterball Jackson, and the Recovering Alcoholic Jug Band
Now that was a parody god help us if they did something like that today…

A reasonably entertaining episode, but wasn’t “Colonel Homer” the first ever “Simpsons” episode in which Homer embraces a wacky new career? Not the best trend to have started…
But he didn’t become an instant professional at it tho he just got lucky.
Dancing Homer. Nothing wrong with a wacky profession or change of occupation the classic seasons are rife with it, but its the spirit in which its gone about.
