I wondered how soon would that quote come up in the comments. Turns out pretty soon.

“Love in the Time of Scurvy” is one of those titles that is just so perfectly Simpsons. It’s not a parody of any one thing: it’s a general satire of any novel with clean-cut, beautiful protagonists supposedly living in an era where most medical treatments consisted of a shot of whiskey and an amputation, as well as a shot at how those same stories tend to romanticize old-school ways of life, while neglecting to actually research the era they claim to idolize.

These days, they’d just call it “Fifty-One Shades of Grey” and leave it at that.

I thought it was a knock off of “Love in the Time of Cholera”

You’ll probably enjoy this. Totally relevant to Zombie Simpsons.

It feels like Spongebob just took a dump on the Simpsons.
I’d rather watch Zombie Simpsons instead. This looks like Infected from 28 Days Later Simpsons.

      Oh hey, Frank Grimes!

THAT WAS FUCKING AMAZING. DOWNLOADED AND BURNT TO DVD. THANK YOU.

I love these “surreal fucked up Simpsons shorts”, the Hommer simpson series in particular needs a detailed discussion and writeup somewhere. I also have a DVD with every episode of it and all of it together equals about 53 minutes and it’s fucking amazing. Check out the live action episode right away, it’s AMAZING

and the series really hits its absurdist godlike experimental avant stride here

Some of these episodes remind me of blaze the pot smoking deer which I’m linking just cuz it needs more fans..

Is Homer taking a dump in the top clip? I can’t get the video to load right now.

What the hell were those things? Jesus, you know when a show has hit real cultural saturation when people’s deepest, darkest nightmares congeal into horrifying constructs based on established tropes of your show. I’m pretty sure Matt Groening would be flattered (weirded out, possibly a little sickt but flattered) buy those movies. Those awful, awful movies.

Plus you mean “avant garde” you can’t just use “avant” on its own in the context you’re using it in.

I just remembered that Family Guy also stole this joke: Chris was looking for a new school and one of the options was a boating. He asked if the instructor was a pirate, and the instructor said, “yes, a certain kind of pirate.
