I think this episode has to feature Homer at his all-time stupidest, at least in the classic era. Checking the other side of his hand for the phone, going “Whee!” as he gets thrown out of the radio station, trying to give Mr. Black the keys to the elephant, headbutting the nature preserve guy for no reason…I’m pretty sure that’s the lowest his IQ ever sunk prior to Season 9.
Ok… stop… stop it… Mr. Simpson, that’s enough, stop it.
That’s not a question, Professor, but we’ll let the viewers judge for themselves.
… I don’t know.
Also, telling Bart to “push her down, son” – later Marge would be chloroformed to “hilarious” effect.
That is easily one of my five favorite Simpson lines. I try to use it in casual conversation whenever possible.
