During my punk phase in high school, the Mr. Sparkle logo was one of the few non band patches I had on my denim vest.
Here’s how to gently reference your past self without going into endless unfunny explaining or making another whole episodes out of it.
BTW I heard in Japan around 1999 they really produced a short promotional campaign for some detergent that featured Mr. Supparku. You’ve also had sailor moon costumes made for men and tits scarfs, because Japan.

You’re right. I thought it was the episode where they went to Japan… Too bad they didn’t recycle that element.
They did have the Mr. Sparkle commercial on the TV in the hotel in “30 Minutes Over Tokyo”. It was just a quick background gag that didn’t draw attention to itself – must have been one of the last of its kind, now that I think of it.
Was that after that painfully unfunny part with the family having seizures in a reference to what happened to those kids who watched that one episode of Pokemon?
