“I’ve got a weekend job helping the poor, and I’m only eight.” – Lisa Simpson
“Pfft, that’s not a job. I’s a waste of time. What can poor people pay you? Nothing! What satisfaction do you get from helping ’em? None! Who wants to help poor people anyway? Nobody!” – Homer Simpson

I love how immediately following Homer’s very animated rant they just ignore him and continue on like it never happened.
Homer’s actually right, so… where’s the joke?
he’s still being an ass about it, though.
Agreed. I’m glad these greedy Simpsons creators that have had it easy their whole life have to pay high income taxes, hopefully they will go toward someone on welfare or government assistance.
I’m glad Marge, Bart and Lisa ignored Homer’s rant.
You’re like a sweet rabbit bunny, did you know that? Whatever you say is sooooo cuuuuute…….
Stan? Is that you?
Sadly, yes.
The whole thing is actually an author filibuster from the episode writer, John Swartzwelder. He actually hates anything to do with charities and helping the less fortunate. Ain’t learnin’ stuff from DVD commentaries a kick?
Damn the animation and facial expressions were fantastic back then.
Found myself looking at the “until now this was the only way to juice and orange” yesterday. Homer on the couch with all his force slamming the orange into his eye, and then the clueless/intrigued look with it dripping off.
Much brilliance.
Much the same here. You can tell everything that’s going on just by looking at their expressions.
Yep.
Which episode was that from?
*It’s a waste of time
