“Ah, for the days when aviation was a gentlemen’s pursuit. Back before every Joe Sweatsock could wedge himself behind a lunch tray and jet off to Raleigh-Durham.” – Sideshow Bob
“Are you getting lots of bugs in your mouth too?” – Bart Simpson
“Yes.” – Sideshow Bob

In today’s society, a man so devoted to killing a child he spends the rest of his life plotting to do so would surely pass for a pedophile. But it’s so nice of them to share a moment of bonding before Bob does something insane again.
Does anyone feel that this episode was just as insane as any Zombie Simpsons episode they can name? Because it did to me, and that’s why I don’t see it that often (I do like the episode that came on after this one — the 138th episode special with Troy McClure). I know it’s probably the best Bob episode for a lot of people (and the last one that’s considered good), but to me, it has too much of what the writers would put in the later episodes, kinda like Marge vs. The Monorail (though I still love that episode, because there’s still some reality grounded into it).
I think this episode was still better than the one where Homer mans a submarine, plugging a hole with Bart’s piercing.
I’m confident it’s not the subject matter that makes new Simpson’s bad, it’s the way it is handeled.
Aka Homer goes to Space is well handed despite being utterly nuts.
Yeah, I heard that Matt Groening was wary about “Deep Space Homer” because of how ridiculous it seemed, but it was more or less realistic.
No it’s not the “last one that’s considered good”, Brother from Another Series came afterwards.
What the hell is that, a lawnmower?
I’ve always thought that Raleigh-Durham is the most fitting destination Bob could have possibly used in this context. (Full disclosure: Used to live in Durham.)
I used to live in Chapel Hill, and in “Homerpalooza” I noticed they went to a place called “Raleigh-Durham Skoal Bowl.” In real life, the only thing in the Triangle area that’s actually called Raleigh-Durham is the airport.
Never seen this line. Cut for time by Sky in the UK? If so, what is their major malfunction?
Bug-eaters protested. Some grub are very juicy, y’know. Pumbaa style.
I watched this one on Channel 4 yesterday, and this scene was in there.
