I routinely (wrongly) attribute that quote to either the picture of Homer eating the cake or with his tongue stuck to a pole. Thank you for inadvertently correcting me!

In Soviet Countrystan, when we take your picture, you must pay us in nuclear subs.

I think Charlie’s gone for a while (or maybe not).

Hey, that’s my favorite scene on my favorite episode. Yeah, “Simpsons Tide” does reek of Zombie Simpson craziness, but watching the Every Simpsons Ever marathon on FXX this year made me realize that Mike Scully’s Zombie Simpsons may be off-the-wall and cartoony, but it is slightly better than the current Zombie Simpsons (Al Jean’s), which is the very epitome of why most sitcoms shouldn’t stay on the air for longer than they should. I know I’ll get bashed and ragged on for saying this (after all, this is the Internet), but, whatever.

I feel like there were three stages of ZS. The beginning where the show became mediocre with the rare good episode. The Dana Gould period where the only decent part was the opening minutes before the first commercial break. Which brings us to now where it is all shit with the occasional good couch gag.

The term “zombie” having been invented by Charlie, I’d say that there were four steps for me in The Simpsons: the “funny” step (which is like Seasons 2-3 to 10), the “meh” step (which is Seasons 11 to Season 19), the “shitty” step (Seasons 20 to 25) and the “fuck it I’m not even watching it anymore” step (Season 25 and beyond). The reason I’m not including the first Season as well as approx. half the second one in it is because they sometimes seem weird to me, they’re not necessarily bad. Just… weird. Many characters which would later be reduced to mere one-line gags are showcased there almost as main characters (like Marvin Monroe, or Herman, whom Grandpa suddenly knows for no reason).
