Dunno why, but this little bit-piece conversation was always a favorite of mine watching this in syndication as a kid. Maybe it’s the word itself, “lowbrow”, the very existence and formation of it, and how its meaning is radically different than its two syllables separated.
Related to this episode, here’s another thing I like, though much more recent: http://gabbo.ytmnd.com
What I love about this scene is the aftermath of this dialogue: Bart’s wonderful, speechless face when looking at the camera, Gabbo taking mere miliseconds to insult its audience, and then Kent Brockman getting fired by doing the same thing Gabbo did, and yet Gabbo is still on air, the story is nowhere finished and we still have half of the episode to enjoy.
Something similar to when Burns was running for governor, he insulted the viewers yet he wasn’t finished.
Always thought it was “body” limerick.
There once was a man named Enis…
