   This may be one of those episodes where Homer is an asshole, but it’s probably one of the funnier ones (or at least worth it for some parts, like Smithers’ enthusiastic announcing of male gymnastics, Bart running from Homer when Homer wants to hug him, the King of the Hill cast commenting on their cheap, needless cameo [“We drove 2000 miles for this?”], Nelson not wanting to go to Hooters because his mom works there, the send-up of sports star cameos on sitcoms like The Brady Bunch, and the end where Bart steps in for Nelson…on getting arrested).

   Wait, wait, wait, hold the phone, I just discovered something more important… Did Homer actually throw an unopened beer can at Ned? He’s wasting precious beer?? Or am I seeing it wrong and it’s a mostly empty beer can and the last of it just foams up when it hits him in the head?

      It’s really not good when your joke has not one, not just two, but THREE out-of-character moments in them. At least that’s how I feel about this bit, anyway.

         I think I have to agree with Anne, though. Homer may be acting like more of a jerk than usual in this episode, but it’s still pretty good overall.
