Quote of the Day

“Burns never gives money to anybody.  Just last week I asked him for fifteen hundred dollars.” – Homer Simpson “For what?” – Marge Simpson “Oh, I gotta get the third degree from you too?” – Homer Simpson

Strange Twists and Collapsing Ratings

“I’ve had one of my unpredictable changes of heart.” – C.M. Burns About three quarters of the way through “The Daughter Also Rises”, the episode took a weird turn.  Lisa went to ask Grampa for advice, which led, without any setup whatsoever, to her, Grampa and “Nick” being chased by the police, which in turn lead to her and “Nick” rowing a boat out to an island.  No reason is given for why things went from relatively sunny and untroubled to dire and suspenseful.  They just did.  Similarly, “Nick” went from being suave and charming and generally very Colin-from-the-movie to…

Quote of the Day

“If we quit now, we’ll never know how badly they’re gonna beat us.” – Homer Simpson “Yeah, you’re right.  That’s the kind of thing that would haunt you.” – Moe

Use It or Lose It

“There’s something I used to do in this situation, but . . . can’t . . . remember.” – Bart Simpson “Ha-ho?” – Nelson Muntz Atrophy is a merciless bitch.  Similar to entropy, it’s the rule that says every living thing, from people to protists, have to keep doing stuff to avoid becoming dead.  If you stop using your legs, because of laziness or injury, pretty soon they’ll wither to nothing.  Ask anybody who’s ever had to wear a cast about how quickly debilitation sets in.  The same principle applies to creative endeavors like television shows.  If you stop doing…

Quote of the Day

“You’re missing the point.  The individual doesn’t matter, it was a team effort, and I was the one who came up with the whole team idea!  Me!” – Homer Simpson

“Why it’s that delightful TV leprechaun! I’m going to get your lucky charms.” – C. Montgomery Burns “Oh no, my brains.” – Hans Moleman

Quote of the Day

“Well, I’ve got to hand it to you Seymour.  These drab student coverings have created the perfect distraction free environment, thus preparing the children for permanent positions in tomorrow’s mills and processing facilities.” – Superintendent Chalmers

Synergy Half-Asses It (and Tacitly Admits Zombie Simpsons Sucks)

Not content this week to slurp at the company slop bucket merely by pretending to review Zombie Simpsons, IGN has run a series of quotes from Moe.  There are eight quotes in total, of which only one is from Zombie Simpsons (it’s from Season 18).  Of the seven that are not in Zombie Simpsons (although there’s one from Season 11’s “Pygmoelion” which is right on the line) only three of them are correctly quoted.  The others are either missing important words or outright mangled.  A cursory check of SNPP – SNPP! – would’ve gotten the correct quote in several cases,…

Quote of the Day

“Man, you go through life, you try to be nice to people, you struggle to resist the urge to punch ‘em in the face, and for what?  For some pimply little puke to treat you like dirt unless you’re on a team.  Well I’m better than dirt, I-well, most kinds of dirt.  Not that fancy store bought dirt, that stuff’s loaded with nutrients.  I, I can’t compete with that stuff.” – Moe
