Great episode. I always laugh as soon as the episode starts, with the “action news” bit, and Kent Brockman jumps in his chair and is clearly out of breath as he screams “hELLO I’M KENT BROCKMAN!” One of those gags that’s hilarious to watch but hard to describe to someone why it’s so funny.
Also, dunno if you heard but Simpsons writer Don Payne died recently… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Payne_(writer) … he never wrote any classic episodes but he did write My Super Ex-Girlfriend which was kinda entertaining for what it was…
Yeah, I heard about that. He may have started in the Zombie era, but any death is tragic, and this is no exception especially considering his age.
No doubt a tragedy. I wasn’t trying to undermine his death, I was just trying to clarify who he was exactly and when he started on the show, since most people may not have heard the name if they don’t follow the Zombie era.
Don’t worry, I wasn’t accusing you of trying to undermine his death. I was just trying to make the point that while I strongly dislike Zombie Simpsons particularly its writing, I don’t hold any ill will against the writers as people.
