Moe is flying high after venture capitalists take a shine to his homemade whiskey, while Grampa, after injuring himself babysitting Bart, decides he would rather be looked after by his grandson than be at the nursing home. Also, Lisa voices her displeasure at a hologram of music legend Bleeding Gums Murphy, and Sonny Rollins (as himself) shows up to ask her to stop all that jazz about boycotting a record label.

Again, we’ve got a lot going on at once tonight.  For you betting folk, I put the over/under for Moe sobbing scenes at 3 1/2, and number of duets Lisa plays with Sonny Rollings at 1 1/2.

Now, that sport where hillbillies spit chaw on their windshields and crash has run long, probably because the drivers were too drunk to go fast, so we are going to miss the episode.

You guys should live-tweet ZS episodes.

Watched it. The Bleeding Gums subplot went nowhere. The Grampa vs. Bart plot did end at least, though nothing much was explained other than the fact that they half-ass their relationships to each other all the time. The main story was a remake of a certain Season 12 episode where Moe turns his bar into a trendy “M” (and even that was itself a remake of some earlier episodes). Go ahead, give me at least one reason why this ep was worth my while. Hit me.

It’s a ZS episode. I’m not going to convince you it is worth your time (which is the same reason why I’m not even going to bother watching it. The only funny things I see here are the signs on the love tester machine, and that can’t possibly be because those are held over from when the show was still good, right?)

Well, there were “laughable at best” moments, like always, I’m sure Charlie will point them out in his Monday review, but of course I didn’t expect much either. I only watched in primo because for the past two weeks visitors here starting getting more or less convinced that the previous ones sucked less, and secundo because the Bleeding Gums Murphy subplot got my attention. I thought that they would at least make a storyline where Lisa has to stand up for the posthumous rights of her idol in order to protect indie jazz movement… turned out it was another cheap gag effort to laugh at breakdancing Ghandi. Suuuure, way to go…
