This was one of the first episodes I saw that I really got all the way to the end, without ever having the need to re-watch it in order to understand all the things. 20 years already… SHIT time flies, man!

This was one of the first eps that I enjoyed watching from the very first time I saw it, without ever having the need to watch it again in order to understand all the things. 20 years already… SHIT man, time flies fast!

The decline of the Simpsons is, I believe, correlative to corporate-spawned media culture decline of the late 90s, such as hip-hop after it started to become mainstream and recieve mass radio airplay & produce hit TV music videos, summer blockbuster blunders such as ‘The Lost World: Jurrasic Park’ & ‘Godzilla’ (1998), unseen side effects of technological advances, and widespread commercialization in general. Billionaire buyouts of companies, including media, led to monopolies, payola, outsourcing, diluted quality in favor of quantity, a return to stricter FCC regulations (due to increasing explicitness in popular music and special interest group complaints), more extreme and obnoxious advertising, etc.

The Simpsons could’ve skewered these trends sooner and better, but it had already been on for more seasons than an average series normally lasts anyways, so as a relult, became part of that very trend.
(I could’ve edited this further, but wanted to post this before going to sleep).

What can I say, 94 is a pretty fair age to die at.
