Aw, you don’t have Homer’s line about how American healthcare is second only to “Japan…Canada…Sweden…Great Britain, well all of Europe. But you can thank your lucky stars we don’t live in Paraguay” (followed by Marge sobbing).

And that’s the second time in season four they mentioned Paraguay having dubious healthcare/surgery (Lisa the Beauty Queen, where one of the pageant contestants tells Lisa that Amber Dempsey’s eyelash implants are only legal in Paraguay).

And both those instances of Paraguay having a poor health system were relocated in the Latin American version. Another reason to stick with the original.

Hate to be that ONE guy, but standard spelling is “D’oh” with an apostrophe, right?

Yeah. It’s a contraction of “Damn it” and “Oh,” though “D’oh” has always been referred to as (ANNOYED GRUNT) in the scripts to this show and some of the episode titles: “I, (ANNOYED GRUNT)-Bot,” “E-I-E-I-(ANNOYED GRUNT), “Simpsoncalifragilisticexpiala(ANNOYED GRUNT)cious,” “G.I-(ANNOYED GRUNT)”…thought there are some examples in which the writers actually spelled out “D’oh!” in the titles: “Greatest Story Ever D’ohed,” “D’oh-In in the Wind”…

The point is, for a while, no one knew how “D’oh” was spelled out until the writers and producers began to open up online, just like how, once upon a time, no one knew how to pronounce Matt Groening’s last name until the 138th episode special (it’s “Gray-ning,” not “Groaning” [which is one of the “scary names” he’s credited under for Halloween episodes] or “Gear-ning” or “Greening”)

        Thanks for the reply, Vicky!

I’ll admit that I’m one of those chaps that (still) pronounce Groening’s name as “Groaning”, that pesky “oe” digraph gets in the way for me. And I was always amused how they input it as (Annoyed Grunt) looking at the ol’ TV Guide or Wikipedia, too.

Anyways, I will assume that forward slash above is a typo on Charlie’s part, since it IS pretty close to the quote key.
