I understand Bob want to kill Bart, but I never understood his motivation for wooing Selma just to murder her. He wasn’t using her to get at Bart or anything.
It seemed more like a strike against the family than at Bart specifically. I suppose since this was Bob’s first re-appearance, his vendetta against Bart in particular hadn’t yet crystallized.
They imply that money was a motivating factor too.
That’s true. I forgot about that.
And it only just occurred to me that the only Classic Simpsons episode in which Bob’s aim was specifically to do away with Bart was “Cape Feare,” way back in season 5. I guess Zombie Simpsons has done so many Bob-tries-to-kill-Bart episodes that I forgot how seldom-used the idea was before. Obviously, Bob didn’t have it in for Bart in “Krusty Gets Busted” as Bart didn’t do anything to Bob until the end of the episode. In “Black Widower,” Bob’s plan was to kill Selma, in “Sideshow Bob Roberts” and “Sideshow Bob’s Last Gleaming,” Bob’s target was the town of Springfield in general, and in “Brother from Another Series,” Bob wasn’t even the villain of the episode.
Oh yeah awesome observation there D.N. but in Season 12 Bob wanted to kill both Bart and Krusty, in Season 17 Bob had no reason to kill Bart but the family (even tho it was lisa who revealed his inmate suit that he had on for some reason) the revenge continued to Season 19 but for some reason in Season 21 it reverted back to bart…
And in Season 14, he’s there to track down Homer’s attempted murderer (but of course, he still tries to kill Bart at the end.)
Dem Korean animators dun goofed up Homer’s face and expression.
BUGEYES.
Yeah if by “goofed” you mean “actual expression”
Selma’s eyes also show someone who is truly hurt.
