Crazy Noises: The Food Wife

“And you’ve never found anything?” – Bart Simpson “Once, but by the time I got to a phone my discovery had already been reported by Principal Kohoutek.  I got back at him, though, him and that little boy of his . . . anyway, that’s why I always keep a cellular phone next to me.” – Principal Skinner As part of our tireless efforts to demonstrate the many ways Zombie Simpsons fails to entertain, Season 23 will be subjected to the kind of rigorous examination that can only be produced by people typing short messages at one another.  More dedicated…

Quote of the Day

“Because you have impeded science, you must now aid science . . . yes.  Starting tomorrow, you will assist me with my amateur astronomy, taking down coordinates, carrying equipment, and so forth, four-thirty in the morning.” – Principal Skinner “There’s a four-thirty in the morning now?” – Bart Simpson

Quote of the Day

“With the bridge gone, and the airport unfortunately on the other side of the bridge, a number of citizens are attempting to jump the gorge with their cars.  It’s a silent testament to the never give up, and never think things out spirit of our citizens!” – Arnie Pie

DHS Editorial: Reply to Bill Oakley

Last Monday’s post about “Homer’s Enemy” attracted the notice of longtime Simpsons writer (Season 3 – Season 10) Bill Oakley, who sent us an e-mail.  That e-mail is reprinted here; our response is below. “He’s right, you know.” – Moe “About the ox?” – Principal Skinner “About everything, damn it!” – Moe First of all, thanks to Mr. Oakley for taking notice of us, and deeming us to have our heads far enough up our asses to deserve correction, but not so far as to make it unworthy of his time to offer that correction.  Furthermore, we hope he understands…

Quote of the Day

“Don’t you realize what’s happening, Bart? Your comet is gonna collide with the Earth and every living thing in its path will be killed!”- Lisa Simpson “I knew you’d try to find something wrong with my comet, Lisa. You’ve always been petty and small, right from the beginning.” – Bart Simpson

Quote of the Day

“I might go mad with fear out there, so Todd, I want you to shoot Daddy if tries to get back in.” – Ned Flanders “(sniffles) Okay, Dad.” – Todd Flanders “Okay.” – Ned Flanders

Where’s Waldo?

This is one of my favorite Simpsons sight gags, if only because it’s a delightful twofer of visual hilarity – the citizens of Springfield crammed into an impossibly small bunker and the infamous bespectacled man-child hiding amongst them. Zombie Simpsons, in all of its soul-sucking mediocrity, repeated a Waldo gag in “Hello Gutter, Hello Fadder.” Instead of cleverly blending him into the background though, he blatantly walks across the screen, which isn’t nearly as funny as making you work a bit for the laugh.

Upon Further Reflection, This Still Sucks

“Noooooooooo!” – Principal Skinner I was expecting Zombie Simpsons to get picked up for another season; epguides.com already has episodes listed for next fall and since each craptacular one supposedly takes a whole year to produce it stood to reason that Season 21 was a forgone conclusion.  But the news yesterday that they were being picked up for two more seasons was like a second, unexpected, football in the groin.  According to some of those links this will push them to 493 episodes.  493!  Of which less than a third are actually up to snuff.   Admittedly, I am no expert…
