After a mother-daughter spat, Marge takes Lisa to Capital City, where, after enjoying a musical, the show’s star sings Marge’s praises to remind Lisa how lucky she is to have such a special mom. Sunday Preview: Sky Police
Chief Wiggum is mistakenly delivered a military jet pack, which he gleefully accepts and uses in order to fight crime. But when the jet pack crashes into the church, the congregation, led by Marge, must resort to gambling and counting cards in order to collect money to repair the church. If Gerry Cooney doesn’t have a cameo in this I am going to be upset. I’d say “This could be a whole new beginning for Springfield”, but I’d be a bald-faced liar.

A Nigerian king comes to Springfield to finalize a deal with Mr. Burns, and Homer is assigned to keep the royal daughter out of trouble, but when he brings her to Moe’s, the barman assumes she’s related to a Nigerian prince who duped him in an email scam and plots to get back his money. After surviving a tornado, Marge and Homer seek out guardians for the kids, in case the worst should happen. They first turn to friends and family, including Homer’s half-brother, Herb Powell with whom to entrust their kids, but when Bart and Lisa fall in love with a super-cool couple, Mav and Portia, Marge starts to question their potential guardians’ true motivations. Rashida Jones is a guest voice tonight. I guess she must be Portia. I also guess I’ll never find out because I am going to catch up on Justified instead.

When a fire at the retirement home forces Grampa to move back in with the Simpsons, Homer throws out his back on moving day. While “resting” at home, he gets hooked on the super-addictive tablet game, “Villageville.” And, in his distraction, he loses the family dog, Santa’s Little Helper. Everyone is angry with Homer for not seeming to care about the missing dog, but Grampa tells them the story of Homer’s long-lost childhood pup, Bongo.
