Halloween pop-up employees seek vengeance on Homer for causing them to lose their jobs, and rob his house while Homer and Lisa hide out in the attic. The family takes a trip down memory lane to see the origins of how Bart and Lisa first started fighting with each other. Flashback episode eh? I watched the promos for this episode earlier, and as per usual, I was less than unimpressed. In one of the promos Homer seems to hire Grandma Flanders as a babysitter, and she is remarkably more with it than when we were first graced with her presence during “Lisa’s First Word”. I am now going to go watch that episode to wash the promos out of my eyes.

Bart’s tall tale about not being involved in a bulldozer accident is a doozy, but a skeptical Marge decides to dog him all over the place until he ‘fesses up. When inventor Elon Musk arrives in Springfield and befriends Homer, the two revolutionize the nuclear plant. But the ambitious Musk soon has Mr. Burns seething and Burns tries to have him removed, forcing Homer to make a tough decision. While I find the real life Elon Musk to be a relatively interesting person, I have absolutely zero desire to see him interact with zombie Homer. At least they didn’t try to rope him and SpaceX into the insane Kang and Kodos episode from a few weeks back.

Homer is hypnotized at a circus into believing he is ten years old. Bart has fun with him at first, making him his new best friend and accomplice. On just that fact alone I would be intrigued, but now that Al Jean has had his greasy mitts on it, I believe I won’t be all that inclined to switch on FOX tonight.

Sunday Preview: Covercraft
Homer has a mid-life crisis, takes up bass guitar and forms a cover band with some of the other dads in town. But the band’s modest early success is soon overwhelmed by the breakout potential of their most unlikely star, Apu. The Red Rocker himself, Sammy Hagar, will guest voice tonight in an episode that I can only speculate to be ‘dad-rrific’. If you are feeling musically inclined however, I would suggest pulling out your season 5 DVDs and watching “Homer’s Barbershop Quartet” instead.
