sideshow

After killing Bart, Sideshow Bob doesn’t know what to do with himself; Homer wakes up with short-term memory loss; Because of radiation, Lisa, Bart and Milhouse gain super-powers.

Ah Treehouse of Horror.  My favorite Halloween ever was probably the last time i ever tricked-or-treated, and FOX ran THOH I-IV back to back. In fact, I think nothing sums up The Simpsons more for me than when the house from “Bad Dream House” ultimately decides to destroy itself rather than live with the Simpson family. I doubt anything as epically awesome as that will happen tonight, but that seems like an unrealistic goal anyway.

    • “After killing Bart, Sideshow Bob doesn’t know what to do with himself;”
    — Bleh, this oughta be good (not!).

    • Homer wakes up with short-term memory loss;
    — Doesn’t he fking always have issues with his memory?!

    • Because of radiation, Lisa, Bart and Milhouse gain super-powers.
    — This was already done (Stretch-Dude and Clobber Girl)…only this type Milhouse is included.

Are they really doing a Memento parody in the year 2015? I love Memento and Christopher Nolan has become a huge director but it’s not exactly a timeless horror classic or even a horror movie.

Ah, so now we’re repeating plot points from ToH X now. I forsee an easy C&C for Charlie this week, that is if his job doesn’t get in the way.

Also, good lord, Zombie Simpsons can’t even escape their nasty 3/4ths-angle habit in their promo images, can they?

Aaaand? 7 years ago they did the zombie apocalypse sketch again, ‘cept it was a ripoff of 28 Days Later and fucking sucked.

You know things are getting REALLY bad when they start repeating ToH episodes. After all, ToH allows the writers to do pretty much whatever they want.

Please stop, Simpsons writers. Just… Please.

This one’s worth a watch… After a good buzz, of course.

This was quite good: it started with a creative opening with an amusing punchline; the first sketch was fast-paced, had a lot of good lines and a nice use of the characters; the next sketch took a while to get going, but had some very good lines and references to things like Mr. Sparkle; and the third had too much explanation, but some good gags like the graffiti sequence, the line “everything has to be on film now,” the whack a mole, the French stereotype being polite and forgiving, and Bart making a beard out of toxic shit. Everything fit the Halloween theme, nothing felt like a copy of a different episode, and I was not bored.

Homer did not have memory problems: The middle sketch was a Godzilla parody.

As an unofficial member of SNPP, I declare this episode”good”, 3.5 stars out of 5.

I wish that “episode” didn’t happen that stopped episode capsules.

      What episode? Story?

You know… The “incident” (like a Seinfeld episode conspiracy) stopping the episode capsule reviews at SNPP. Mid season 13.

        It’s just… All too much.

No I don’t know, that’s why I asked, but jesus. Forget it.

Hey asshole, how about apologizing for calling me a faker, huh? That and the purpose of your fucking poll I still took like a gentleman.

It has a “purpose.” But an “incident” has “slowed” “the process” “down.” It’s just…all too much.

Thought this one was pretty weak. The only good bit was the Sideshow Bob segment. The rest were just meandering, boring nonsense. The Godzilla segment in particular just went into a tailspin after whatever story they had for it suddenly stopped and it just devolved into meta on top of meta. Did the 3rd segment even have a plot? Just “the kids fall into a hole, get super-powers, stuff happens, the end”

The John K segment just seemed like a mess, but it’s interesting to note that the background song had quite a bit of swearing in the vein of Family Guy

I thought even the side show bob part was boring. I think it’s because we knew about it so far in advance. The whole episode was a bore, but they did try to put in some mentions from previous episodes.

Unforgivably bad, as always. The first sketch got the most promo, but in fact it’s just Bob shooting a harpoon through Bart’s heart, which then someone leads to him creating a resurrection device with all the ensuing death/birth frenzy. The second sketch is just fucking awful. For the record, Homer becoming a man-eating blob was handled out more Halloween-y, and this is still years away from the classic Homer Kong. The final one has Bart, Lisa and Milhouse touching the ooze, to the latter two get superp… floating and telekinetic abilities, and somehow Maggie bests them all out, Putin gets a shirt, the French stop being snotty, yada-yada.
Oh, and the opening intro was nice. The ONLY nice thing to watch in this heap of shit. Make that a YouTube video and you’ll get far more views than it is.
Emojean, do you have a soul? A shallow bit of regret? No? Nothing? Go emofuck yourself, as always.

First one was an Itchy and Scratchy episode. Second one was a Godzilla parody that they didn’t know how to end so we got the movie making stuff. The final part was the worse. It feels like they wrote it and had no idea how to conclude their story, so they just made up Maggie stuff. And some would say they had no idea what a story was when writing it.

This is their usual THoH script writing scenario. The first one is the one with the most social virulence going on so they at least think it through. The second one half-asses midway, and the final one is garbage as always.
I dunno, maybe one could find consolation in that it doesn’t get worse, though this is like saying “I broke my legs when I fell from the first floor, but at least I didn’t die”.
