Reading Digest: Foreign Usage Edition

We’ve got excellent usage from all over the globe this week.  And I mean all over, from Cambodia to Lebanon to Ireland.  There’s even a wonderfully titled blog from the UK.  In addition to that we have iPads for sumos, an evil talking Krusty doll, several people doing sketches, and a homemade Simpsons table I would love too much to ever put anything on.  Oh, and Season 13 came out this week, but I don’t care about that. Enjoy. 40 Movie References From The Simpsons – This is Smooth Charlie Apollo’s Click of the Week.  We’ve linked to these types…

Friday Link Dump – ‘Think of the Children!’ Edition

“Think of the children!” – Helen Lovejoy Can The Simpsons be used as a cromulent educational device to teach the childrens how to do good English?  Unpossible!  We’ve got advertising to children, a shitty example of satire for high school students, and the moral quagmire that is “Lisa the Iconoclast”.  Also there’s some excellent usage, an idiot who likes Zombie Simpsons, and the before time, the long long ago, gets described as both the “Golden Era” and the “Golden Years”.  Enjoy. Life Imitates Simpsons

“We’re here! We’re queer! We don’t want anymore bears!” – Homer Simpson Last Thursday a wild brown bear made an unannounced visit to Ljubljana, in search of food, or possibly employment, which forced the Slovenian police to seal off part of the capital.  Apparently there are more than one bear attacks in Slovenia each year, but it appears that the Slovenian Bear Patrol was prepared.  On a separate note, if any Slovenian authorities are reading this I have a rock in which you may be interested…

Don’t Get Your Hopes Up, Ireland

“The Simpson story begins back in the old country, I forget which one exactly.” – Abe “Grandpa” Simpson The next next new episode of Zombie Simpsons is going to premier in Ireland and the UK on St. Patrick’s Day.  (It won’t be on here in the New World until next Sunday the 22nd.)  Basically, Grandpa decides that he’s from Ireland and they go there and get drunk and buy a pub and probably some other random, disconnected stuff as well.  But the Irish have apparently not gotten the message that Zombie Simpsons sucks balls.  Like, really not gotten the message:…
