“Homer, are all these pockets necessary?” – Marge Simpson “They wouldn’t be if you were willing to sit in a hollowed out wheelchair.” – Homer Simpson

The End of Zombie Simpsons: Still Unlikely
“Well, let’s look at the contract ourselves, eh? Benefits! Perks! A green cookie on St. Patrick’s Day!” – C.M. Burns There are a few pieces of new information about the current money wrangling going on between FOX and the six principle voice actors. I’ve linked three articles below along with a summary of what actual news each contains. As of noon today, this what’s known to the internet: ‘The Simpsons’ producers accepted pay cuts | Variety (via): An unspecified number of executive producers have agreed to take an unspecified pay cut, but as yet no contracts have been signed. FOX…

Crazy Noises: Bart Stops to Smell the Roosevelts
As part of our tireless efforts to demonstrate the many ways Zombie Simpsons fails to entertain, Season 23 will be subjected to the kind of rigorous examination that can only be produced by people typing short messages at one another. More dedicated or modern individuals might use Twitter for this, but that’s got graphics and short links and little windows that pop up when you put your cursor over things. The only kind of on-line communications we like are the kind that could once be done at 2400 baud. So disable your call waiting, plug in your modem, and join…

“Yeah, sure, for you a baby’s all fun and games, for me it’s diaper changes and midnight feedings.” – Homer Simpson “Doesn’t Mom do that stuff?” – Lisa Simpson “Yeah, but I have to hear about it.” – Homer Simpson
The End of Zombie Simpsons Would Be Great; Still Probably Not Happening
“I don’t think they’re giving you enough information, Dad.” – Lisa Simpson “I’ll figure it out. I’m gonna use all the power of my brain.” – Homer Simpson The NFL escaped from its lockout basically unscathed, the NBA is getting into serious crunch time with theirs, and now Zombie Simpsons has added its name to this year’s list of labor-management disputes between millionaires and billionaires. This morning, gossip and media columnist Lloyd Grove published an anonymously sourced article on The Daily Beast reporting that contract negotiations between FOX and the voice cast aren’t going well (thanks to Gran2 in comments). …

The Lesson Is: Never Try
“This is as good as I can do, and I still failed!” – Bart Simpson When it comes to Zombie Simpsons I’m firmly in the camp of “It Never Gets Better”, and last night’s exercise in repetition and tedium is a perfect example of why. They managed to not spin themselves into blood soaked absurdity like last week, there weren’t any pointless celebrity cameos, and there was even kind of a story. But while this is the best they can do, it’s still flat, dull and boring. Just consider the school auction at the beginning. In that scene alone we…

Sunday Preview: Bart Stops to Smell the Roosevelts
Simpsons Channel doesn’t have a preview image for tonight’s looming waste of time, but they’ve been going through a staff change of late so I thought I’d check the official website just in case. This was a mistake. On the one hand you have good web design, on the other hand you have a spinning donut graphic in Flash that stays on the screen for thirty seconds while it says “Loading XML”, “Loading intro”, “Loading assets”, “Loading content” and, the ultimate admission of dumb shit websites, “Almost done”. After all that I didn’t find a preview image there either. Anyway,…

Quote of the Day
Image yoinked from here. “So, what’s the word down at One School Board Plaza?” – Principal Skinner “We’re dropping the geography requirement, the children weren’t testing well. It was proving to be an embarrassment.” – Superintendent Chalmers “Very good, back to the three “R”s.” – Principal Skinner “Two “R”s, come October.” – Superintendent Chalmers
