The best part is when Radioactive Man winks at the audience. I love this little exchange. Great episode!
Love this episode. In fact, I think when I first saw it, I thought it was the very first example of episodic TV understanding and celebrating/poking fun at comic-book nerd culture. As a comic-book collector, I was mightily impressed.
…and I love how, in the Radioactive Man clip, Dirk Richter doesn’t actually fill out the costume – it looks a little saggy, just like the Superman costume worn by George Reeves in the 1950s. Have to admire that attention to detail. BTW, I don’t know if it’s a “tribute” or whatever, but this Radioactive Man TV series is sponsored by Laramie Cigarettes, and is based on the old Superman show, and in the old Superman show, Jimmy Olsen was played by an actor named Jack Larson – the same name bestowed upon the President of Laramie Cigarettes in “Bart the Murderer” and “Lisa the Beauty Queen.”

I never would’ve caught that, but I can’t believe that’s a coincidence. That sounds like something they would do.
