Seurat?! Fuck, I thought it was painted by Renoir…

The original, one of the best displays of pointillism, but Barney just makes it look like it came from the pages of a coloring book. Used with marker.

It looks kind of as if Barney tried to combine the styles Peter Max and Georges Seurat, but didn’t quite succeed.

Actually, I was wondering just now, I wonder what Moe means when he’s saying “twelve-step” above in the quote. Is he referencing something?

The “twelve-step” remark has to do with Barney attending AA which has twelve-step program. It’s not an art Reference of any sort.

Oooh, I learned something new today. I really feel like a scientician now!

Wow, such brilliance and somehow a cure for cancer still evades us…
How can you not know that “twelve-step” is a reference to Alcoholics Anonymous?

Blame the animators/colorists for that. Everyone says that 2D animation is so great and that we shouldn’t abandon it for 3D (we shouldn’t), but not every 2D cartoon is something out of Disney or Warner Bros. There are mediocre and downright bad 2D cartoons, just like there’s mediocre and downright bad 3D cartoons (and, of course, the 2D done in Adobe Flash and/or digital ink and paint).

one of my favourite paintings, though the actual Ile de la Jatte might not be as dreamy
